Soundlapse project results presented in Barcelona
Results from a study exploring the pedagogical and transdisciplinary role that soundscapes can play as a conceptual framework for music and engineering courses were presented by Felipe Otondo at The International Academic Forum (IAFOR) conference in Barcelona. IAFOR is a confederation of leaders and opinion formers from around the world who have one thing in common: the desire to make a difference. Since 2009, IAFOR has provided new perspectives to today’s and tomorrow’s thought leaders and decision-makers, offering constructive environments for dialogue and exchange at the intersections of nation, culture, and discipline.
The organization was founded by a small group of concerned academics and business professionals from Asia, Europe, and North America, as a politically independent and mission-driven organization dedicated to providing and promoting meaningful dialogue irrespective of international borders. With the Asia-Pacific region emerging as a new and powerful center of world events rivaling the traditional Euro-American hegemonic axis, and with various and conflicting nationalistic fears and domestic political interests often dictating negative foreign policies, the importance of ensuring cooperation between Asian states and the Western world has never been greater, and IAFOR’s mission is more relevant than ever.
