International Prize for Makuta composition

Felipe Otondo has been awarded a II Degree Diploma at the SYNC.2026 International Competition of Creative Works in Electroacoustic Music and Multimedia, held in Yekaterinburg, Russia. He received the award in Section I: Electroacoustic Music, Nomination: Acousmatic Music, Category C, for his work submitted under the motto “Makuta.” The results were announced by the competition organizers in April 2026.

The SYNC.2026 competition brought together an international jury of composers, artists, and scholars from Russia, the United States, Austria, and China. In the same category, the first prize was not awarded, which makes the distinction especially notable.
